"I fight cancer with music. In elementary school, when my aunt passed away from breast cancer, I started taking piano and violin lessons seriously. In 7th grade, I played Amazing Grace at my grandfather’s funeral (he passed from acute myeloid leukemia), and witnessed music’s ability to provide a source of healing both physically and mentally. In December 2019, I played music from Frozen for a girl battling brain cancer hoping it would give her laughter. In November 2020, when I learned that a family friend was diagnosed with lung cancer, I organized a music video for her for Christmas. Her incredibly long text was the most heartwarming Christmas gift I have ever gotten: listening to our music gave her the strength and encouragement to fight.
Music has inspired me to fight cancer and I will keep doing so until we have a cure.”
